Eric, Do you have a schedule for the downtown work that you could share with me? As you know (or maybe you don’t know?) the street in front of my store is being closed again this week. This seems to be solely for the convenience of the contractor and definitely with no concern for the business owner once again. This nightmare project has been going on for the whole year and I would love to see a timeline of expected completion as well as a schedule so that I will know in advance if the road will be closed. I have requested this repeatedly and any well run project should be able to provide this basic information. Also, I am the ONLY retail business open in the 300 block on Mondays. There are SIX vacant buildings in the 300 block. Yet, directly in front of my store is where vehicles and equipment are parked. It is just common courtesy to give some amount of notice to the businesses you are impacting and try to stay out of the way wherever possible. Please see attached. Washington Upcoming Concrete Pour Good morning Eric, We have poured our foundation wall at 303 N. Washington. As agreed on Friday, I want to reiterate that no nails should be driven into the new concrete foundation wall. To ensure the project is completed correctly, please instruct your contractor as follows: 1. No nails: Absolutely no nails should be driven into the newly poured concrete. We will adhere the expansion material to the concrete using an adhesive. 2. Form and material removal: We will be responsible for removing the forms and any building materials in front of our building. 3. Concrete care: Please handle the concrete with care as it contains additives that extend the drying time. I want to emphasize that the concrete foundation wall represents a significant investment and is private property. Any access or alterations by your contractor must have our prior authorization and presence. I am disappointed to have to send this email, but previous issues and the contractor's behavior have made it necessary. I hope we can complete the remaining pour without further complications or additional unprofessional conduct. As you know, there were substantial errors during the previous pour, which required correction. Your presence helped to partially address one issue. However, the contractor's response to additional concerns was unacceptable, and the concrete remains defective in several areas. To avoid similar problems, I request your presence throughout the pouring process. Given the small area involved, this should not be time-consuming. Hopefully, we can conclude this without any further violations of your engineers plans or any further abusive behavior from your contractor. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Larry Watts
